Mom,
What does one say at a time such as this. Thank you for helping me take care of Kirsten and Kevin all these years and all the fun things you did with them. This January when you started rehab I was blessed to spend all this time with you. It would make me laugh whenever we would nitpick because it was funny to see that you were just as stubborn as I was. You discovered door dash and we started making plans of what we were going to eat and it was always fun picking a new restaurant. This past Mother’s Day you expressed you hadn’t had pizza and mozzarella sticks in a long time with a Pepsi, so we ordered just that! It was nice to see how much you enjoyed that and glad we got to do that together. We would spend our days going over current events, watching Naked & Afraid, and listening to you reminisce over growing up in Hoboken. It was interesting to learn how much gas was in 1957, how much the bus was from Hoboken to New York, how you would make pencils after school, and even punch out toothpaste tubes. You even discussed with me how you met your husband and remembered the time he helped dig your car out of the snow since he lived next door. It was fun to celebrate Mardi-Gra with you and the staff at the rehab with your New Orleans shirt, beads, and hats on. I could go on and on but am blessed to have so many memories of you. I know when you passed, you passed peacefully and I am honored I was able to be at your side. I will miss you so much.
Love always,
Diane

Grandma,
It is still hard to accept that you’re gone. My life will never be quite the same without you in it. You were the person I turned to for guidance and advice on this crazy roller coaster we call life. You always knew what to say and how to comfort me. You were not only my grandmother and best friend, but, someone I considered a mother. I am going to miss our conversations where we discussed everything and anything, making apple pies/sauce by hand after spending the day apple picking, coming downstairs to see you walking snowball on the treadmill, helping you garden, our trips to High Point, Red Bank, Hoboken, Spring Lake, Warwick, Disney World, Williamsburg, Seaside Heights boardwalk, helping you with your craft shows/crafts, our trips to Rockaway Mall to get your hair cut, watching Kevin make you laugh, enjoying Puzzo’s pizza and mozzarella sticks, our weekly Applebee’s dates, coming upstairs for your tea at night, and you always being present for every major life event. The list goes on and on and makes me smile as I reminisce. I will be eternally grateful for all the memories I am blessed to have of you. Thank you for teaching me how to succeed in this world. I couldn’t have asked for a better role model. I will find comfort in knowing who I am as a person is because of you. I will continue to make you proud and know that I have the most amazing guardian angel. I miss and love you so much. You are forever in my heart.
Kirsten

Grandma,
It is beyond difficult to believe you are gone. Things are just not the same without you. The memories and dreams about you are so vivid that they become so comforting. I am going to miss our talks and Applebee’s lunches. I am going to miss seeing you coming up the stairs at night to make your tea. I am going to miss helping you with your Nintendo Wii to watch Netflix. I still remember when I was home sick from school you would bring home Burger King, sometimes I faked it just to have some! I so much wish that you could have met Kristiana, you would’ve LOVED her so much. I am just happy that you were at least able to talk to her over the phone. I know I wasn’t the best grandson in my mid twenties, but you never stopped believing in me. I am going to make you proud like I have been doing. I miss and love you so much.
Kevin
