Rayola M. McLaughlin a lifetime resident of Port Jervis died on June 8, 2022. She was 102. Daughter of the late Robert and Mary McLaughlin she was born March 20, 1920 in Port Jervis. Rayola was a well known name and face to the Port Jervis community. She was the former longtime proprietor of Town & Country Bridal Shop, Port Jervis. A woman of deep faith and devotion to Mother Church she was a member of St. Mary’s RC Church, a Eucharistic Minister, Member of Catholic Daughters Court Madonna Council 114, Former National Regent Catholic Daughters of America (1986 - 1990), District Deputy Catholic Daughters of NY and bestowed member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Rayola was also known for her devotional service to Mercy Hospital and Girl Scouts Troop 8 of Port Jervis. Beloved Aunt of Rayola Pedsersen her husband Roger and the late Edgar G. Purcell with his wife Felicitas still surviving. Great Aunt of Christopher Pedersen his wife Lisa and Mark Pedersen his partner Paige. Great Great Aunt of Nathan, Natalie, Erica and Eliza. We would be remiss not to name her devoted friend and caregiver Cathy Jo Ewanciw who was by her side when she passed and her husband John Ewanciw. Visitation Friday June 17, 2022 from 2 to 5:00 PM at KNIGHT - AUCHMOODY FUNERAL HOME 154 East Main Street Port Jervis NY 12771. Funeral Mass Saturday June 18th St. Mary’s RC Church, interment to follow St. Mary’s Cemetery Port Jervis.
