Obituary of Raymond Allen Anderson
Please share a memory of Raymond to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Raymond “Ray” Allen Anderson, 51, born on April 18th, 1970, laced his boots up one last time on September 5th, 2021 and embarked on his final journey to the Pearly Gates, where he knew a fishing pole and a stocked pond was waiting on him.
Ray didn’t know a stranger; you could always find him shaking someone’s hand and giving them a quick smile to brighten their day. He was a jack of all trades; as there was nothing he could not fix, build, or make. And if it tried to stop him, he would make sure he figured a solution out. And when he wasn’t fishing, or fixing something, he was spending time with his family, or simply jamming out to his music. And let’s not forget about his sports. Boy did Ray love his Jets and Mets.
Ray is preceded in death by his father and sister, Raymond G. & Rose Patricia Anderson. He is survived by his mother Gloria Anderson and his loving children, Cassandra “Mook” Anderson, Brooke “DuDu” Taylor (Jonathan), & Raymond “Boy” Anderson (Payton). By his longtime partner, Jennifer Melady and bonus son, Zachary "Son-Son" (Marina). And his many loving brothers and sisters, Robert (Patty), Randy (Martha), Rhonda, Roger (Theresa), Rusty, & Rachal (Brian). Also, survived in death, by his joy in life, his many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Special mention to Lorie Ford "Ma”.
Knowing that Ray’s baby blue eyes are no longer here to steal a smile on all of our faces will forever be a sad moment in our days. If you did not get a chance to know him, you missed out on knowing a great guy. He will forever be missed, but his memory will live on in his family and friends. To quote one of his favorite songs, "Played the part of a villain been a hero for my children.. When I'm no longer living just remember all the good parts..” So go away with his memory and smile, jam out to some tunes, and remember the good times. Visitation will be held 11AM-1 PM, Friday, September 10, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM at the funeral home.
