Obituary of Nicholas Logan Balsamo

Nicholas Logan Balsamo, aged 27, beloved son and brother, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, NY, with his mother by his side. 

Nicholas was a resident of Montclair, New Jersey, for 15 years, before moving to Port Jervis.  He graduated from Montclair High School with the class of 2014 and was a member of the Championship winning Montclair Fencing Team. He was a brilliant artist and musician, who, with no formal training, could compose and sing beautifully, paint and draw effortlessly.  He was a gifted athlete, and enjoyed fencing, playing baseball, basketball, and hockey.  He was an avid sports fan and always enjoyed watching and discussing sports with his father.  

Nicholas is survived by his parents, Nina and Louis, his sister, Mia, his Aunts Victoria, MaryLou and her husband Robert, Michelle and her husband Michael, his Grandmother Demarys, his cousins Kendra, her husband Michael and little cousins Abigail and Jeb, Brittany and her husband Kyle, JR (Joseph) and his wife Amanda, and little cousin Ruby, Melissa, Frank, Dan and his wife Angela, David and Devon Marie, Stephanie, and his Godparents Jessica and Christian. He was pre-deceased by his loving Grandmother, Angelina, and his best friend, Ferris Bueller. We will love and miss him forever.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, December 10th, from 2-6 PM, at his home, 36 Buckley St., Port Jervis, NY. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Nicholas’ great love of animals, their care and in support of those who dedicate their lives to these beautiful creatures, donations may be made to Jill’s Ferals, in care of Jill Wojtaszek, 7 Old Greenville Tpke., Port Jervis 12771, and the Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark, 202 Route 209, Port Jervis, NY 12771.
