Obituary of Harold L. Ashworth, Jr.

Harold  L. Ashworth, Jr died peacefully with loved ones at his side on December 22, 2022. He was 92 years old. He is survived by his daughters and granddaughters, his brothers and sister, and several nieces and nephews. As a young man, Harold worked at the looms in his family’s blanket mill; after retiring from Middletown Psychiatric Center, he was a real estate broker. Harold loved wildlife; an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger days, in later years he enjoyed just taking a stroll through the apple orchard behind his home to catch a glimpse of the deer, and watching the birds that visited the feeders. A lifetime of fond memories dwindled away under the decade-long onslaught of Alzheimer’s disease. Please consider making a donation to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan, who tirelessly cared for him for over two years. Inurnment at Westbrookville Cemetery will take place in the spring.
