Obituary of Georgianna Latini Black
Please share a memory of Georgianna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Georgianna Latini Black left this earth in the fashion that she lived – big and bold, living her life on her own terms. Born and raised in Port Jervis in 1942, she was the first daughter to the late Lawrence and Mary Morgi Latini. She is survived by her devoted children Zachery Scott Gokay (Erin) and Penny Black Rudinger (Adam), her three siblings, Lawrence Latini, Frances Buchanan and Joseph Latini. She has two beloved grandchildren, Merry Kathryn and Adam Ross Rudinger who smile when they speak of her.
Georgie, as she was fondly called by so many, was wise, loyal, creative and a force in her own right. She traveled the world yet chose to build a strong community in Port Jervis. There was nothing Georgie could not do or accomplish; she worked as a chef, owned prosperous businesses, built Ford vehicles and in her later years, a supervisor at the local cosmetic factory where she continued to help others find their own footing in life. If Georgie wanted it done, she would get it done – to perfection – and was happy teach you how to accomplish it too (and give you sh*t if you were not paying attention).
Georgie’s home was always filled with ‘kids’ in various stages of their lives in need of understanding, support and laughter. We all loved her hot potato surprise, as you never left her home hungry. She enjoyed her music; you could hear Led Zepplin or the Beatles floating on the breeze as you pulled into her drive. She believed friends and family were the bread of life and always had an ear to lend, a lesson to give – and you had better listen! She worked in earnest at any task she undertook and expected the very same from you, no excuses! If she liked you, you knew it, if she didn't, you knew it. This obit is too short to know her life and the legacy she gave us...Georgie was one of kind and will be missed dearly.
