Obituary of Nicholas Gerten Jr.

Nicholas Gerten Jr. of Glen Spey died on November 19, 2023 at Bon Secours Community Hospital.  He was 92. 

The son of the late Nicholas Sr. & Catherine Gerten, he was born on March 30, 1931 in Manhattan, NY.  

Nicholas was the former Director of the Office of the Aging for Orange County, serving from 1979 to 2008.  He loved his dogs and  listening to music from classical to blues and Hendrix.  He traveled extensively in life from England to Egypt and enjoyed it thoroughly.  

He is survived by his devoted wife Kathleen Gerten at home.  He leaves behind his nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.  

Donations may be made in his memory to the Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark. 

Services are private at this time.  Cremation was held at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford.
