Douglas E. Gore born December 6, 1940 in Port Jervis, NY
Passed into glory on 11/21/2023. He was 82
The son of Charles E.Gore and Florence F. Gallondorn- Gore
Douglas is survived by his sister Evelyn Gore Moss and her husband Michael Moss of Georgia. His niece Virginia Mayfield and her husband Ronnie and their children. His nephew Mickey Hamilton and his wife Ginger and their children.
His son David E Gore and his wife Theresa of Port Jervis,New York. His daughter Eunice Gore -May and her companion Charles of Wappingers Falls,New York. His granddaughters Rachael May - Hinsinger and her husband Barry of Washingtonville,New York and Caitlin May and her fiance Lloyd of SparrowBush,New York.
Douglas is survived by his first wife Caroline and has many nieces and nephews, his cousins and many friends throughout his life. His brothers from another mother Keith Borkenhagen and Steve Parker, who has passed.
Douglas is survived by his fourth wife Barbara-Smith-Clark-Gore of Monticello,NY and their son William Gore. His grandsons Jason Carr-Gore and Kaden-Carr Gore and their mother Sarah Carr of New Jersey, also a step child Cindy Clark of Monticello, NY.
Douglas lived his life to the fullest, he did what he wanted when he wanted to. He was an auto mechanic for Cases Garage in Port Jervis, NY. for many years. He retired in Monticello, NY from Maplewood Auto Service Center. He was a photographer for the Union Gazette in Port Jervis. He was a professional wedding photographer as well. He liked to tinker with his many woodworking projects, he also painted cars, built model airplanes and motorcycles. He was a member of the Tri-State Model Flying Club and made many lifelong friends building and flying model airplanes. He also had logged many hours flying Cessna airplanes. He was an avid motorcycle rider and was a member of the Asphalt Brotherhood. He especially loved riding motorcycles with his son David. He also loved his many vegetable gardens over the years.
He was a Christian, a firm believer in his Lord and Savior Jesus. He loved reading his bible and listening to bible studies.
Please, call your local nursing homes and find out what donations for residents are needed. Give to your local nursing home- clothing, shoes, socks coats, jackets, sweaters, shawls, quilts, soap, slippers, etc, and prizes for Bingo! Dad won many Bingo games.
Be greatly blessed in the name of Jesus our Lord and Savior, where there is comfort and peace for all who mourn.
A private graveside service will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.
