Obituary of Dorothy Murray

Dorothy “Dottie” Murray, of Highland Lake, NY, died peacefully on December 14, 2023 with her family by her side. She was 85.

The daughter of the late Warren and Edna Heneberry, she was born on July 16, 1938 in the Bronx.

Dottie worked and retired from the NY Botanical Gardens, not only working but enjoying her time there. Her family will recall her as a devoted grandmother and great grandmother, having loved them all very much.

In addition to her parents, Dottie was predeceased in life by her husbands Kenneth Hicks and John Duke; her daughter Karen Ann Jankowski; her brothers Edward Murray and Warren Heneberry.

Beloved Mother of Michelle Cleary (Michael) of Barryville, NY, Steven Duke (Kimberly) of Milford, and son-in-law Donald Jankowski. Cherished Grandmother of Tara, Michael, Donald, Brian, Annberly, Ashley, and Steven Jr. Great Grandmother of Mason, Callen, Emily, and Laurann.
