Obituary of Richard W. Hulse

Richard W. Hulse “Dick” died peacefully at his daughter’s home on January 28, 2024.  He was 87.

The son of Harry J. and Eva Blanche (King) Hulse, he was born on February 7, 1936 in Cahoonzie, NY.

Dick proudly served our Country with the US Army serving in the Korean War.  He was the longtime proprietor of Dicks Commercial Refrigeration & the Pioneer Inn of Slate Hill.   Longtime member of Port Jervis VFW161 and the Tristate Naval Ship.  Dick was an avid bowler who thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

In addition to his parents Dick was predeceased in life by his 11 siblings. 

He is survived by his wife Nancy Hulse at home.  Former wife & mother of his children Carol D. Hulse of Port Jervis. Beloved father of Richard W. Hulse of Middletown, Adam W. Hulse with his wife Nancy A. of Westtown, Fawn Schneider with her husband Dan of Eldred and Dawn L. Hulse of Port Jervis.    Dear grandfather of Ricky McCrann, Matthew D. Hulse, Amanda N. Hulse, Marissa N. Boyd, Thomas J. Vanhorn, Marina L. Schneider, Savannah J. Schneider, Angelica Sierra, Jessica Sierra, Elle Hulse and John Hulse.  Uncle to his many nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will take place on Thursday 2/1/24 from 4 to 6:30PM at the KNIGHT-AUCHMOODY Funeral Home 154 East Main Street Port Jervis NY 12771.  A service of remembrance will take place 6:30PM at the funeral home with US Military Honors, Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating.  Following services a private cremation will take place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford. 

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the hospice of Orange & Sullivan who provided exceptional care to Dick in his final days.
