Obituary of Shirley Ann King

Shirley Ann King died peacefully on March 21 st , 2024 at Delaware Valley Personal Care Residence. She
was 79 years old.
The daughter of the late John and Frances Sczerba, she was born on May 24 th , 1944, in Port Jervis, New
York.
Besides exploring West End Beach, Shirley loved to take care of her horses, her family, and her
flower garden. She enjoyed her work at Kolmar Factory as Head of Quality Assurance for 25 years, then moved on to
become Property Manager of Water’s Edge Senior Community until she retired in 2014.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by both of her sisters, Arlene Blair and Dorothy
Pierson, Brother-In-Law Ted Blair, her first husband Robert S. Blair who served in the Air Force during
the Korean War, her second husband Frank C. King Jr. who served in the Navy during the Vietnam war,
and her grandson Thomas Luyster the 4 th .
She is survived by daughter Bonnie Carmeci and son-in-law Vietnam Navy Vet. Peter Carmeci of
Barryville, NY, daughter Kelly Law and son-in-law decorated Vietnam Marine Vet. Michael M. Law of
Port Jervis, NY, 5 grandchildren Rita Luyster, Jaimee Luyster, Ashley Bello, Kenneth Bello, and Robert
Bello, and multiple great grandchildren. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, friend, grandmother,
great-grandmother, and so much more. She touched the lives of many and could always put a smile on all
the faces of the people she spoke to.
A brief gathering will be held at Knight- Auchmoody Funeral Home for the immediate family only. Following, a graveside service will take place, 11:30AM on Tuesday March 26th, at Pine Hill Cemetery in Sparrow Bush, NY., and all family and friends are welcome to join.
