Obituary of Ruth A. Cheshire

Ruth A. Cheshire of Port Jervis died on May 3, 2024 at Bon Secours Community Hospital.  She was 74.

The daughter of the late Donald and Mary Katherine Cheshire she was born on March 27, 1950 in Glen Cove, NY.

Ruth worked and retired as a teacher’s aide with the Port Jervis School District.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. 

Long-time companion and Fiancé of James Ballard.  Beloved mother of Mary Capobianco, James Capobianco, his wife Leanne, Scott Small, his wife Zaira, and Cornelia Harvey. James' children whom she loved, Brian Ballard, his wife Alyssa, and Michelle Braunfotel, her husband David. Cherished grandmother of nine and great grandmother of five.  Aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Nancy Klobetanz, her husband Al, Angela Smith, her husband Michael, and Richard Cheshire. 

A Memorial Gathering will take place 1:00PM on Sunday June 9th at the Port Jervis Elks Lodge 35 US-6, Port Jervis, NY 12771.  A private cremation took place at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford.
