Obituary of Elizabeth Betty Babb

Elizabeth “Betty” Babb, age 93 of Matamoras, Pennsylvania passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at home with her family by her side. She was born on June 1, 1928 in Port Jervis, NY, the daughter of the late Dallas and Phoebe Dorer Aber. Betty retired as a secretary for Nial Hamilton Insurance Co. in Port Jervis and later from Trovei Realty in Port Jervis. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Matamoras and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Matamoras Fire Dept. She was a long time knitter and made 100 hats and mittens each year for school children that needed them. Betty married Edward “Pete” Babb on April 28, 1949. He pre-deceased her on March 17, 2007. She is survived by her two sons; Lyle Babb and his wife Susan, Gary Babb and his wife Pamela, her beloved grandchildren; Christopher Babb and his wife Erin, Candace Bocaletti and her husband Luis, Gregory Babb and his wife Danielle, Justin Babb and his wife Rachel, her beloved great grandchildren; Madison, Taylor, Morgan, Anna, Zoe, Sofia, Isabella, Annabelle, Ella, Josh, Kaitlyn, Heather, Rosemary and Dominic, her sister-in-law Regina Aber, her niece Robyn and her husband Robert Klessig and her nephew, Brian Aber. Memorial services will be held 11 AM, Friday, November 5, at the United Methodist Church of Matamoras, 209 Ave H, Matamoras, PA. Ev. Diane Sommers will officiate. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Matamoras.
