Judy and I want to extend our deepest condolences to Donna, Gene, and Debbie in addition to the entire Gill and Mitchell families. It was always a pleasure to chat with Mrs. Gill when we bumped into her over the years. The loss of a parent is a most difficult life experience, but we hope everyone is comforted knowing that she now resides in the eternal light of the kingdom of heaven.

Ethel was such a fine lady in all ways. We first knew her as our son's 2nd grade teacher, then knew both she and Jim at church. We were all in the same home fellowship group together meeting weekly, and appreciated both of their gracious and caring ways. We have missed them both and will continue to reflect on the memories we have of them. Our prayers and condolences, Jim and Kathy Basile

Ethel was one in a million. My brother and I have many memories of Ethel and Jim. When I returned to PJ she would invite my brother and I for a meal. It’s really difficult to place in a few words the impact the Gill family had on us. She indeed is in a better place. May the Good Lord Bless her family and Jim and Ethel are now together with their Savior, forever and ever. Amen!!’

Mrs Gill was my son's second grade teacher. Even though that was 38 years ago, she was such a warm and caring teacher. I had many conversations with her during that year but also whenever I ran into her we would always chat and remember each other. Rest in peace dear Mrs. Gill.

Aunt Ethel was the epitome of grace and class, growing up I always thought she was so beautiful. Her hair always done so perfectly, earrings and a beautiful outfit without fail. As I got older not only did I realize she was beautiful on the outside, I realized how beautiful she was on the inside. My grandmother Doris Gill Hall and Aunt Ethel's husband Uncle James Gill were brother and sister and Aunt Ethel and Uncle Jim lived around the block growing up. I remember them at every family function Aunt Ethel looking beautiful as always and Uncle Jim with joke or a song. My brother and I would ride our bikes down their dead end street to see if she was out sitting on their porch while Uncle Jim was cleaning his 2 toned brown pick up truck in the summer evenings, 9 times out of 10 that's where we found them. Aunt Ethel would always give us a "treat" sometimes it was a piece of candy, sometimes it was a homemade cookie. I don't know why when I heard of her passing all these memories came flooding back to me, but It hit me that she was the last living relative of that generation.(if I'm remembering correctly)
I'm so incredibly sad for her family and their loss, my love and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I think of all the family who was there to greet her when she reached heaven and MAN I bet that was incredible! I can just see them all sitting around the table catching up and I can't begin to imagine her reunion with Uncle Jim!

Hey girls I was just sittin’ here thinking: As a youngin’ I can remember Aunt Ethel greeting us with “Huddo” as we came to your house. Not hello, but huddo, because that’s how she would answer the phone as an operator working for the telephone company before she began teaching. I wonder how many times a day she said huddo.
