Obituary of Helen J. Banach

Helen J. Banach of Port Jervis died on October 19, 2024 at Garnett Medical Center.  She was 77. 

The daughter of the late Adolph and Mariel Uhrig, she was born on May 15, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY. 

Helen worked and retired as a school bus driver with the Minisink Valley School District.  Helen loved her family, be it spending time with her sisters, her daughters or grandchildren it was with them that she was at her happiest.  She adored her cat and going to a casino was not unheard of for her.  

In addition to her parents Helen was predeceased in life by her husband Vincent J. Banach, her daughters Kelly Banach and Elaine Vandermark and brothers David Ian Uhrig and Robert "Butch" Uhrig.  

Beloved mother of Debra Banach - House with her husband Walter House Jr.  Grandmother of Jason Vandermark, Walter House III, Dylan Pascoe, Dean Pascoe and Vincent House.  Great grandmother of Bella, Pasley and Lincoln.  Dear sister of Artie Uhrig, Richard Uhrig, Sue Fairweather and Rosemarie Cutler.  Mother in law of Wayne Vandermark.  

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday 10/25 11:00AM at Holy Cross RC Church, South Centerville.  Following the Funeral Mass final committal will take place at Manning Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband Vincent and daughter Kelly.
