Obituary of Michael J. Staerker, Jr.

Michael J. “ George" Staerker, Jr. age 84 of Eldred, NY passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Garnet Medical Center, Middletown, NY. He was born on August 21, 1937 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Michael J. Staerker, Sr. and Lucille Severance Staerker. Mike proudly served our country from 1954-1962 with the US Army. Upon his discharge from the Army, he moved to the Port Jervis area. Here is where he met and married his wife Carrol Lane. They remained in the area and raised their four children. He retired from Reynolds Aluminum Co. in Middletown, NY, after many years of dedicated service. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, tinkering in his garage and reading western novels. Michael is survived by his wife Carrol at home, his two sons; Michael J. Staerker III, of Augusta, New Jersey, George Staerker of Huguenot, NY, his two daughters; Connie Staerker of Cuddebackville, NY, and Deanna Staerker of Eldred, his sister, Joyce VanTuyl of Barryville, his beloved 15 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
