My Uncle Georgie and I were only 12 years apart in age. We spent a good amount of time together as children. Because my Uncle lost his parents at a very young age he was often in the care of my mother and father (his older brother), his sister and 2 other brothers. He would always say, “I had the best childhood ever”.
He has always been a special presence in my life. We both had a love of our dogs, as my brother did too. They were always part of our family.
In later years, after I had grandchildren, he would always ask about my children and grandchildren, and my husband. He was very proud of the family and home we made.
We would laugh about how I was catching up to him in age, even though we were uncle and niece.
I loved my Uncle Georgie and I will truly miss him.
