Edith “Nell” Trotta, age 84 of Port Jervis, NY passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at Belle Reve in Milford, PA. Nell was born on September 4, 1937 in Valdosta, Georgia, the daughter of the late James B. And Edith Cannon Mills. She retired as a cook from the Port Jervis School District after many years of dedicated service. She was a former member of the Deerpark Reformed Church in Port Jervis. Nell was avid collector of owls, enjoyed reading and thoroughly loved being with people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Nell married Patsy H. Trotta, who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughter, Susie Depew and her husband Bobby of Middletown, NY, her son Mark Trotta and his wife Heather of Huguenot, NY, her beloved grandchildren; Nicole Vicchiarello, Michael Vicchiarello and his wife Melinda, Brittany Depew, Steven and Olivia Trotta, her two great grandchildren; Brielle and Bryson, her son-in-law Michael Vicchiarello, her two brothers,; Kenneth Mills, Terry Mills and his wife Cathy, her sister, Tina Boswell and her husband Earl, all of Live Oak, Florida, her sister-in-law Velma “Sis” Leeper of Port Jervis, several nieces and nephews and her very dear and close friends, Jack and Loree Flieger of Port Jervis. Nell was pre-deceased by her daughter Vicki L. Vicchiarello, on April 23, 2020. Visitation will be held 11 AM-1 PM, Tuesday, December 14, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst will officiate. Spring interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
