I was so saddened to read that Mr. Eccleston had passed away. My husband and I both attended SCCC from 1987 to 1989. Mr. Eccleston was our Business Law professor (both I & II) and he was our absolute favorite professor. Although rough around the edges, he was a wonderful teacher who infused real-life experiences to make a somewhat dull course of study more interesting. Mr. Eccleston would often use my husband and me as the object of his anecdotal explanations of contracts or warranties as he suspected we were dating. I'd like to think he would be glad to know that we eventually got married and made a life together with two beautiful children.
Please know that he was often thought of over the past 35 years with shared stories of his memorable teaching style, his stories, and his shared life experiences. I don't remember many of my professors, but my husband and I have never forgotten him. He will always be remembered fondly.

Dear Pat,
Where do I start? You and Bob treated us Homer's girls like your own. Trips to Atlantic City, the shore, rented out your apt building to all the girls from Homer's. You both treated us like family. So many memories.....
Sending love from my family to you. Bob will forever be in our hearts.

We will miss our dear friend Bob whom we have known for over 40 years. Allie enjoyed working for Bob and Pat, as their handyman, on many projects over the years. Bob and Pat went from being great customers to very close friends. It was so delightful going out to dinner with them and exchanging stories about life in Port Jervis and beyond. Sending our love and prayers . Jane and Allie Acoveno

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of H.?
A: If Bob Shepard was the "Voice of God" for the NY Yankees, then Bob Eccleston was certainly the same for Port Jervis!
A good friend whom I first met back in the eighties; he was an inspirational, no-nonsense leader who set the example for public service.
The Port Jervis Republican City Committee has created a scholarship in Bob's name that is awarded each year to a graduating senior from Port Jervis. His legacy continues!
